NSW: Teachers to vote on strike

Teachers across New South Wales are stopping work this morning to vote on whether to
strike for 48 hours over their ongoing pay dispute with the state government.

They're demanding a 25 per cent increase over two years, while the government's offering
six per cent.

The dispute's been before the NSW Industrial Relations Commission since September.

Teachers will vote via video link-up this morning on a recommendation for a 48-hour
strike in February next year.

State Education Minister ANDREW REFSHAUGE has said the government will respect the IRC decision.
