NSW: Women interferes with police radio

A woman has broadcast on Sydney police radio frequencies, causing havoc for officers
on the beat in an otherwise relatively peaceful New Year's Eve celebration.

Police say the woman put at risk the lives of police officers and the community by
broadcasting bogus reports that police officers had been bashed.

Commander DICK ADAMS says unfortunately some foolish person in the city has used a
police scanner to tap into police communications.

He says the woman is simply being foolish because she is jeopardising not only the
