Vic: Heroin ship linked to N Korea: report
The North Korean Government reportedly owns the ship Pong Su, which has been impoundedin Sydney after it allegedly dropped off 50 kilograms of high grade heroin in Victorialast week.
The Sunday Herald Sun reports that the freighter is owned by the North Korean government'sPongsu Shipping Company.
The paper also cites US State Department reports which say North Korea has been runninga huge heroin trade.
The paper quotes the report as saying the Korean Government illicitly produces narcoticdrugs and traffics in them to earn foreign exchange.
The paper also reports that South Korea's National Intelligence service says that NorthKorea has been selling drugs through diplomats and businessmen stationed overseas sincethe 1970s.
